I’m Aidan, a professional bass player from Glasgow, Scotland. In July 2020, I started this website and a YouTube channel to push myself to become a better musician while sharing my journey with others.

In the years before starting my channel, I became fixated on how to get the most out of my practise time and how to integrate practise into my life with the least friction possible. This led me to start logging my practise in late 2019 (up until then I had put in roughly 1000 hours), and I am happy to say that because of this habit I have learned (and continue to learn) so much about my own development as a bass player.

My goal is to reach the much-coveted 10,000 practise hours, while recording my progress in as much detail as possible. As of starting my YouTube channel, I am at 1464 hours. Learn with me, struggle with me, grow with me! If I can make the experience of learning to play bass more enjoyable and less frustrating for at least a handful of people, then I will know that I have succeeded. The more talented bass players in the world the better as far as I am concerned.

I love playing bass and intend to continue learning and sharing what I do for the rest of my life. If you are in a position to support me and my work, in any way at all, then check out my Patreon for some exclusive goodies. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, and happy bass playing!
